This Sunday I did something I would have sworn I would never do. I cast a blank vote. Not for the election for the european parliament but for the election about the succession to the throne.
The question was whether ot not a woman should have the same right to the throne as a man. The whole thing was put up to be about equal rights for women but in reality this has no impact on any one except two people in 60 years.
We are voting for equality for people who are in no way equal to the rest of the population. They pay no taxes, no VAT and they still expect freebies at restaurants. Also we are paying an entire family, including Queen and husband, firstborn son, his wife and their two children, their second son , his new wife, and his three kids. Anyone who claims that a president would cost just as much, has a math problem!
Du glemmer alle slottene i din beregning, de vil forsat være der selvom der ville være en præsident her i landet.
SvarSletDriften her er en del af de royale budget og omvendt ved præsidentvalg vil der være politisk mudder ind over, præcis som vi ser ved de valg vi ser allerede i dag.
Så en præsident vil næppe være meget billigere i drift - ren matematik ;)
Kun to af slottene (kan ikke lige huske hvilke) bliver rent faktisk betalt ud fra de kongelige budgetter, resten betales af statskassen. Så jo, en præsident er billigere. ;-)
